At Mobanle, we welcome passionate individuals to share their perspectives, creativity, and expertise with our audience. By contributing articles, videos, or other media, you help us celebrate and amplify the voices of Africa and the African Diaspora while exploring the global Black community’s cultural and creative influences.
Submission Guidelines
Content Types
- We accept articles, opinion pieces, videos, photo essays, and other media that align with Mobanle’s focus on global Black culture, arts, entertainment, history, health, and current affairs.
- Submissions should reflect Mobanle’s values: insightful, informative, engaging, and respectful.
Submission Process
Email your submission to submissions@mobanle.com with the subject line:
- Contribution Submission. Must also include your name.
- Include a brief introduction about yourself and the work you’re submitting. If applicable, attach a short bio (50–100 words) and links to your past work.
- Written articles must be between 600 and 1,200 words. Videos and other media should include a brief description and any necessary context.
Originality and Relevance
- Submissions can include original work or previously published content that remains relevant, interesting, and aligns with Mobanle’s mission.
- For previously published works, please include details of where and when the content was originally published. Contributors are responsible for ensuring proper permissions for re-publication.
- Proper credit must be given for any quoted content, images, or multimedia elements. Contributors are responsible for obtaining permissions when necessary.
Editing and Review
- Submissions are subject to editorial review and may be edited for clarity, tone, and length while maintaining the integrity of your work.
- Not all submissions will be published. We reserve the right to decline submissions that do not align with our mission or quality standards.
Rights and Ownership
- Contributors retain copyright ownership of their work. By submitting, you grant Mobanle a non-exclusive license to publish and promote the content on our website, social media, and associated platforms.
Compensation Policy
- Currently, contributions are unpaid as we grow and build sustainable monetization or funding sources.
- Once effective monetization or funding is established, we will adjust this policy to include fair compensation for contributors.
Getting Published
- Contributors whose work is accepted will be notified via email. Publication timelines vary based on content needs and editorial schedules.
- Published contributors will receive byline credit and, where applicable, links to personal websites or portfolios.
