Viola Davis to Receive 2025 Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes?

Viola Davis, the award-winning actress and producer, has been named the 2025 recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes. Renowned for her transformative performances and her contributions to the film industry, Davis is recognized as one of Hollywood’s most influential figures.

The Cecil B. DeMille Award, established in 1952, honors individuals whose careers have made a significant and lasting impact on the entertainment world. Previous recipients include legendary figures such as Walt Disney, Sidney Poitier, Robert Redford, Barbra Streisand, Meryl Streep, and Oprah Winfrey.

Davis will be celebrated at a special gala on January 3, 2025, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where the Golden Globes will, for the first time, host an event dedicated to its most iconic awards. She will also be recognized during the 82nd Annual Golden Globes broadcast, airing on January 5, 2025, on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

Nominations for the upcoming Golden Globes will be announced on December 9, 2024.

Ted Danson is also set to receive the Carol Burnett Award at the 2025 ceremony.
